Debunking a Thanksgiving Myth!

With Thanksgiving dinner rolling around, the question of the century pops up again:

Do you really have to wait 30 minutes before swimming after you eat?

For ages we have all been told that so much blood is needed to power your digestive system that we won’t have enough blood or energy to power our limbs in order to swim. Mom may have been right about most things she told us, but definitely not this one!

It is actually healthy for you to eat something before exercising, says Elisabetta Politi, RD, Director of the Duke Diet & Fitness Center. As long as you are don’t overeat before your workout, it is possible for you to burn more calories if you eat a meal that is high on both carbohydrates and protein before a workout.

With that being said, we at All Florida Pool encourage you to eat as much as possible this Thanksgiving, and give your pool a splash! It is the time of year where we should step back and be thankful for everything that we have, all that we have grown, and all that we have learned. At All Florida Pool, we are thankful for our families, our friends, and our clients. Thank you for continuously entrusting our team for all of your pool needs.

May Thanksgiving and the Holiday Season bring much love and happiness to your homes!
